A Chinese blue and white 'Fitzhugh' tureen and cover, circa 1780
of octagonal shape with hare-head modelled handles, with a spread foot and domed cover surmounted by a flower and leaves finial, painted with a pavilion and tree peony within a fenced garden, between a foliated scroll around the foot and honeycomb, cell and floral decoration on the cover -- 13 3/8in. (34cm.) wide
