CIRCA 1934, PAINTED TO REVERSE WITH FLOWER GARLAND INITIALS EFC AND DATED
Painted by W.E.Mosley with a bouquet of three large pink roses, leaves and buds against a black ground within a gilt-line rim, and initialled W.E.M, the brooch mount stamped '9ct'
The plaque 1 5/8 in. (4.1 cm.) diam

Lot Essay

William Edwin Mosley apprenticed at the Derby factory in 1893. A painter of landscapes and birds, he excelled particularly in floral subjects. Well known for his precision he made many miniatures, and often did paint the monogram of the recipient on the reverse.
