The armorial with funnel bowl wheel-engraved with coat-of-arms accolées surrounded by elaborate foliage on a tasselled console, the reverse diamond-engraved with the inscription ENGELBERT OPTEN NOORTH GEEN RAMP U RUST OOYT STOORT! DEN 23 MAART 1716 AETATIS 52 (Engelbert Opten Noorth, no misery will ever disturb you, 23 March 1716, aged 52), on heavy-baluster stem enclosing tears, on conical foot, 20.2 cm. high (two frits to the foot), the faceted engraved with a continuous scene of three houses, trees, birds and a dog, inscribed Marque D'amitié, on square foot, 13 cm. high (one corner with small chip, minor frits ) (2)
