18TH CENTURY, BLACK H MARK AND 4 TO RIM OF CASTOR AND COVER
The jardinière inspired by Daniel Marot Delft examples, in the baroque style, painted with a cartouche of a fountain formed as putti blowing in conches, the reverse with an aristocratic couple flanking an orange tree under a baldachin, further with stylised floral motifs, with large mascaroon handles, on pedestal base (repaired), the castor after a silver shape, painted with tied bouquets in shades of blue outlined in black, applied with polychrome flowers, the ajour cover pierced with flowerheads (minor losses to the flowers, small chips)
