Very high fills, signs of overfill seepage
Mid-deep red-brown, with Pinot spiciness developing well. The wine is full-bodied, with rich middle palate, and a firm, long finish. It was hand-bottled without filtration, and - as with all the best 1988s - there is no hurry to drink it. AH
