Gene Roddenberry invented the circle-and-triangle IDIC symbol for the Vulcans, as first seen in a medallion worn by Spock in "Is There In Truth No Beauty?" in Star Trek: The Original Series. In "The Forge" in Star Trek: Enterprise, we learned that the triangle represents Mount Seleya on Vulcan, and the birth of Vulcan civilization. That line of dialog inspired this tapestry, which depicts dawn over Seleya, and alludes to Roddenberry's design for the IDIC.
