Lot Essay

These panels began life on a science fiction series pilot for another studio. When the project wasn't picked up, the elegantly-curved acrylic panels caught the eye of Star Trek art director Louise Dorton and set decorator James Mees. Dorton and Mees asked the show's graphic artists and special effects technicians to modify them for use by the Suliban during the first season of Star Trek: Enterprise. Later, they further modified them to serve aboard a covert Romulan vessel during the fourth season.
