A collection of aproximately 200 drawings, sketches, and memos from the development of the Starship Voyager and the major standing sets for the series, most are Xerox file copies, includes art by Richard James, Rick Sternbach, Jim Martin, Daren Dochterman, and others, sketches trace the development of the Voyager bridge and the Starship Voyager itself, includes several memos from Sternbach on the theoretical operation of the ship and the construction of the ship miniature, as well as several blueprints (a lot)

Lot Essay

The most intense design work for a Star Trek series generally occurred during the preproduction phase before the pilot episode. That's when the main sets, ships, and other key elements were created. This remarkable collection documents the process by which production designer Richard James sought to give his ship a fresh, new look, while remaining faithful to the established style of Starfleet vessels.
