A prop leather-bound book with pages glued together, stamped with Jake Sisko's name and detailed with black and metallic gold tape detail, a rectangular area of the front cover has been cut out, revealing the title of the book, Anselm, in black hand lettering, along with a drawing of a ship's wheel, behind the title graphic is an electroluminescent panel, used for backlighting, with a small switch inset into the bottom of the book controls the nonfunctional electronics, some gold tape detail has separated -- 6x9¼in -- featured in closeup as the grown-up Jake Sisko's masterpiece in "The Visitor" in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine; accompanied by a second, similar leatherbound book without title inset, author's name or electronics (2)

Lot Essay

"The Visitor" is widely regarded as one of the finest episodes of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. In it, Ben Sisko is killed. Jake Sisko grows up to become a famous author, but he always regrets that he wasn't able to save his father. When the technology to do just that becomes available, the elder Jake willingly sacrifices everything to save his father in the past. This prop symbolizes the life that Jake sacrificed out of love for his father and is an important artifact from this remarkable episode.
