The reptilian Tosk was the first being to visit Deep Space Nine from the Gamma Quadrant through the Bajoran wormhole. Tosk befriended Miles O'Brien, who tried to protect him from the deadly Hunters who had followed him through the wormhole. Tosk's code of silence prevented him from revealing to Miles his deep-felt desire to fulfill his destiny, to die with honor.
