Lot Essay

The Horga'hn was the Risan symbol of sexuality. To own one was to call forth its mysterious powers, not to mention the attention of the beautiful women (and presumably, men) of the Risa resort. Riker arranged for Jean-Luc Picard to obtain one on his trip to Risa in "Captain's Holiday" in Star Trek: The Next Generation, but the good Captain needed no help in finding female companionship. In later episodes, a Horga'hn could sometimes be seen in Riker's quarters on the Enterprise-D.
