Lot Essay

Q began as a plot device invented by Gene Roddenberry in 1987 when the studio wanted to expand the pilot episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation from a one-hour segment into a two-hour television movie. Q quickly became a fan favorite, and returned for numerous episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation as well as Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager. In many of those appearances, Q delighted in donning a wide variety of costumes.
