Two Star Trek II-style officer's burgundy uniform jackets, a pair of black pants, one cream-colored undershirt, and a pair of black shoes, one jacket with department shoulder strap and cuff band with captain's bars and service pips, metal Starfleet insignia badge, and black leather belt with Starfleet emblem buckle, one jacket accompanied by a memo from Star Trek costumer Carol Kunz relating to a loan of the costume for publicity, indicating that it had been worn by Takei -- believed to have been worn by Takei as Sulu in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country; with corresponding wardrobe tag (6)

Lot Essay

When George Takei appeared in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, it wasn't as a member of the Enterprise crew. Sulu had been promoted, and was serving as captain of the Starship Excelsior . Naturally, Sulu and his ship played a key role in saving the day. Sulu and his ship returned five years later for "Flashback," Star Trek: Voyager's tribute to the 30th anniversary of the original show.
