A Star Trek VI-style Klingon warrior's costume comprising: a vinyl jacket with car upholstery details, insignia, shoulder aglet for holster and synthetic fur sleeves; vinyl gorget; spine piece; grey super spandex pants with pleated detail; belt with buckle, and disruptor holster; gauntlets; fingerless gloves; and cloven-toed knee-high Klingon boots -- designed by Dodie Shepard for Star Trek VI and subsequently used in numerous television episodes [boots originally black, sprayed brown for later use] (13)

Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country featured far more Klingons than had been seen in any of the previous Star Trek films. As a result, costume designer Dodie Shepard needed to make quite a few more Klingon costumes. Shepard's approach was to build on Robert Fletcher's work, expanding it to include more variations of style. The resulting costumes added both verisimilitude and credibility to the Klingon culture.
