A BLUE AND WHITE 'SCHOLAR AND EMBLEMS' VEGETABLE TUREEN, COVER AND LINER, of compressed oval quatrefoil shape with cross-laced handles with foliate terminals, the cover with a lotus bud finial, the interior, liner and cover finely painted with a lakescape depicting an elaborate pavilion on a promontory beside twinned pine and deciduous trees above a scholar crossing a single-arched bridge towards a second pavilion below dwellings on a smaller island in the distance, the borders with cartouches of ribboned emblems, circa 1816
