A painted wood English box back dolls' house
with extension, of three bays and three stories with pierced metal balcony, painted to simulate brick and stone, roof, chimney, back and two side windows, opening at the front to reveal three rooms, hidden staircase, pantry, bathroom, fireplaces, range and original floor papers and curtains; furniture and chattels including gilt metal birdcage, cuckoo clock, inkstand, picture frame, calender and vases; soft metal piano, washstand, gas rings, chair, firegrate with fire and flames, hall stand and cache pot on stand; a tinplate Ducth oven; pale wood varnished furniture; frozen Charlottes and bisque-headed dolls 36in. (92cm.) high x 16in. (41cm.) wide x 20in. (51cm.) deep
Provenance
This dolls' house belonged to Mary Louise Gray born 19th June 1838, later Mrs Arthur Julian of Carrigrenane, Little Island, Co. Cork, and there by descent through her sister Lucy Eileen Gray to her daughter the late Moira Garland.
