This table is very typical of the work of Jean-Pierre Dusautoy (maître in 1779), who produced a number of similar small writing tables. Tables of close design by Dusautoy are illustrated in J. Nicolay, L'Art et la manière des maîtres ébénistes français du XVIIIème siècle, Paris, 1982, p. 171, fig. A and N. de Reynies, Le Mobilier Domestique , vol. 1, Paris, 1987, p.1128, fig 4265.
