Lot Essay

Anita O'Keefe Young, a well-known philanthropist, was the sister of the artist Georgia 0'Keefe, and wife of Robert R. Young, the Chairman of the New York Central and C & O Railroads. She assembled a collection of French and English furniture, silver and porcelain in both her Newport house 'Fairholme' and 'Montsorrel' in Palm Beach.
