engraving, before 1490-91, a very good impression, on laid paper with a Head in Profile watermark (Lehrs 70), as called for by Lehrs on fine, early impressions, trimmed inside the platemark but retaining a small margin outside the borderline on all sides, with extremely skilfull touches of pen and ink, in very good condition

Lot Essay

Lehrs records approximately sixty impressions in total, eight of which he rates with three stars. Of these eight, two are on paper with a Head in Profile watermark, one is with another watermark, and the remaing five are without watermarks.
