Eska Watch Co. was founded in 1918 in Grenchen, Switzerland by S. & E. Kocher.

During the 1950's, the use of cloisonné dials on wristwatches became quite popular. With the improvement of manufacturing techniques, various watch companies produced wristwatches with bright and colorful dials. These featured such themes as tropical landscapes, maps and seascapes, as seen on the present example.
