Each center printed in gilt with a named trophy emblematic of a sweet or savory foodstuff or beverage, including hare, duck, dairy, pickles, asparagus, pastries, waffles, beet sugar, cane sugar, tea, beer and wine within a laurel medallion, the yellow border edged in gilt, the outer edge in colors with an ivy vine on a white band, gilt line rim

The gilt trophies on the present plates are from a series designed by Charles-François Leloy entitled Attributs des Petits Repas. See Porcelaines et Terres de Sèvres, musée national du château de Compiègne, pp. 126-127, no. 74 for a pair of vases 'Médicis', 4eme grandeur gilt with trophies also designed by Leloy, these emblematic of modern hunting (chasse moderne).
