A LURISTAN BRONZE MASTER-OF-ANIMALS FINIAL
EARLY 1ST MILLENNIUM B.C.
Janiform, the central column with stylized heads, ridged mouldings and protruding hips, the upper head with outstretched arms that grasp the necks of two flanking cocks, cock heads emerge from their backs below, attached to a tubular mount of baluster form decorated with three heads, 15¾ in. (40 cm.) high; another bronze Master-of-Animals finial similar, with three heads on central column, the protruding hips also with emerging cock heads, attached to tubular mount, 12¾ in. (32.5 cm.) high; a bronze animal finial composed of two confronting rampant ibex, bearded, with high arching horns, attached to tubular mount and with central triple ibex-headed pin, 8 in. (20 cm.) high; and a bronze pin with head in the form of a standing bearded goat, with high arching horns, 11½ in. (29 cm.) high, all early 1st millennium B.C., all mounted (4)
