SAMARKAND, CENTRAL ASIA, 10TH/11TH CENTURY
On short foot, the white interior with a central red continuous knot motif flanked at each side by a large shaped palmette panel containing red scrolling floral motifs and black triangular panels, the sides with bands of stylised kufic inscriptions above scrolling red ring-motifs, the exterior plain white, repaired breaks, areas of restoration
