A closely related jug was formerly in the Lagonico Collection, although in that example the cintamani were not enclosed within the roundels found here (John Carswell: Iznik, London, 1998, pl.62, p.83). The present jug indeed has one proper cintamani panel that has escaped being encosed in a roundel. It does not show in the present illustration but is clearly visible in the Barlow catalogue illustration noted above.
