NORTH EAST IRAN, 14TH/15TH CENTURY
Of rounded form on short foot, the interior with a design of six radiating cobalt-blue segments each with split palmettes in reserve around a turquoise panel containing a palmette in reserve, a band of inverted black inscriptions together with a cross-hatched band around the mouth, the lip with simple turquoise and black stripes and panels, the exterior with radiating panels of bold black spiral motifs divided by turquoise lines, repaired, slight restoration

Lot Essay

The inscription around the inner rim is a repetition of the word al-baraka, (blessing).
On the lower external wall is an inscription in a crude hand: "But what is the reward of God for the servant".
