A collection of royal Qajar letters and documents, mostly from the time of Nasir al-Din Shah (those with his comments dated between AH 1296 AD 1878-9 and AH 1313/AD 1896), with others from reign of Muzaffar al-Din Shah.

It starts with envelopes addressed to Hajib al-Dawla from Nasir al-Din Shah with his stamp dated AH 1304/AD 1886-7. Among the documents is an official letter from Nasir al-Din Shah to Amin al-Sultan that bear the Shah's seal impression and one note by Amina Aqdas wife of Nasir al-Din Shah. There is one letter of Muhammad Shah to Mirza Abu'l-Qasim Qa'im Maqam (undated), a few belonging to Muzaffar al-Din Shah's period dated between AH 1313/AD 1896 and AH 1324/AD 1906 and one belonging to the first year of Muhammad 'Ali Shah dated AH 1324/AD 1906. A few notes by Hajib al-Dawla are also included.

The notes are addressed to Ja'far Quli Khan, Ja'fari, Jalal al-Mulk, Hajib al-Dawla and Mu'in al-Sultan and many deal with payments.

Ja'far Quli Khan, Jalal al-Mulk, Hajib al-Dawla , Mu'in al-Sultan (b. circa1280/1863-4) was appointed in charge of staff of the private apartment of the Shah. He accompanied the Shah to Europe in AH 1290 AD 1873-4 as his private servant and again in AH 1295/AD 1878-9 being given the title ghulam bacheh bashi (Chief in charge of staff). He was titled Jalal al-Mulk in 1301 (AD 1883-04) and Hajib al-Dawla in AH 1310/AD 1892-3 and Mu'in al-Sultan by Muzaffar al-Din Shah (a letter written by Muzaffar al-Din Shah to him with the title Mu'in al-Sultan dated AH 1320/AD/1902 when the Shah was in Paris is among the documents).
