Pomerol, cru exceptionnel
Two with damaged capsules, three slightly corroded. Four slightly damaged labels, one very stained. One with Japanese import slip label and one with U.S. import slip label. Levels: five base of neck, four top and one upper-shoulder
Tasting note: Fine, rich, but not all that deep in April 1972, a glorious mouthful though. Quite quick to develop, soft, nicely balanced in 1976, then in the early 1980s, an astonishing flavour of ripe mulberries, pretty high alcohol, impressive, lovely. More than just fleshy yet not fat. M.B.
