A large Japanese satsuma koro and cover, 19th Century
standing on four beast-head supports, with twin moulded karashishi handles, painted in coloured enamels with a musician seated playing the biwa in a river and pine scene, birds and foliage to the reverse, surrounded by foliate and geometric motifs, the cover with large karashishi standing four square - 17¾in. (54cm) high.
