A large Japanese Komai-style Islamic market iron tripod censer, 19th century
the vessel decorated in gold and silver wire with inscribed panels below the upright loop handles with the shahhada and another inscription, dividing two further shaped panels emblazoned with a dragon and a ho-o, all on a hammered ground, rectangular tablet applied to the underside reading in Chinese 'xuan de er nian zhou yi xun xiu quan zhu ren zhi' (Xuande second year, made by Zhou Yixun, master of the slender bamboo forest) -- 10¾in. (27cm.) wide across the handles.
