A Kashan silhouette-ware pottery bowl, Central Iran, circa 1200
of rounded form with T-section rim, the black slip interior incised through with a band of dedicatory inscription reading al-'izz wa al-iqbal wa al-dawla wa al-'inayat wa al-baqa, the exterior plain, all covered with a translucent turquoise glaze, repaired clean breaks - 5 7/8in. (15cm.) diam.
