A Minai pottery bowl, Central Iran, 12th Century
of rounded form on short foot, the interior white ground painted in various colours with a central mounted huntsman surrounded by four similar huntsmen alternating with trees, the rim with a band of blue stylised kufic inscription decorated with red and turquoise leafy and floral motifs, the exterior with a band of cursory black nasksh, areas of restoration - 8¼in. (21cm.)
