signed on the silvered compass Troughton London, with double circumference degree scale, edgebar needle and clamp and glazed cover, mounted in the middle of the alidade arm with twin folding sights and single vernier, reading off the main circle with 0-360° scale and staff mounting, in a circular fitted mahogany case with balljoint mounting attachment and the remains of a label in the lid for C.
