A French lacquered-brass three-ring universal equinocial ring dial circa 1700,
signed N.BION A PARIS, with suspension ring, the obverse meridian ring graduated 0-90° twice and three city latitudes, the obverse equinoctial ring with hours I-XII twice and subdivided into quarter-hours, the obverse declination ring graduated with months of the year and seven cities and the alidade mounted on struts with pointers, sights and pin-holes, the reverse of the rings engraved with twenty-two city latitudes -- 14.2cm. (5½in.) diameter
