Lot Essay

Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with paved diamond dial and 4/4 sapphire hour markers, 84 baguette diamonds of approx. 5.33 ct, 16 diamonds of approx. 0.21 ct and 469 diamonds of 2.49 ct in 1984 and its subsequent sale on 8 October 1987. It has never been offered in public before.

Reference 4700 was in production from 1981 until 2004 and was available in different versions as to case material and dial layout. The highly jewelled examples, such as the present watch, were made in very limited quantities during a short period in the mid 1980s.
