Lot Essay

Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1947 and its subsequent sale on 6 August 1948.

The present watch is a fine example of a reference 533 chronograph wristwatch and fresh to the market; offered by the family of the original owner it has never appeared in public before.

Reference 533 was introduced into the market in 1937 and is distinguished by the elegant look of its Calatrava case with the typical flat bezel.

The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, p. 264.
