Lot Essay

Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1891 and its subsequent sale on 22 July 1891.

Chronograph watches by Patek Philippe featuring a central 60 minutes register are exceedingly rare. Research has resulted in the identification of only two other comparable watches with central registers to appear in public to date, one with a 15 minutes register, the second hunter cased. Consequently it can be assumed that the present watch is the only openface chronograph watch with central 60 minutes register to be known publicly to date.
