This unusual and hitherto undocumented design appears to be an experimental evolution of one of Aalto's earliest and rarest chair designs. It is possible that as Finmar sought to expand distribution of Aalto's designs in Britain, experimental models or variations of existing designs were produced in order to explore market response.
