Lot Essay

The present work (and lot 76) was given to Roy Edward when he was living at Penrose's house, Farley Farm. Edwards and his partner, Geoffrey Lawson moved out of the farm, due to illness, and did not bring this work with them. Antony Penrose, the artist's son, gave this work to Geoffrey Lawson after Edwards' death.
