Lot Essay

The handles are formed as couples dancing to the fiddler who composes the finial of the cover, the perimeter of the bowl marked by figures seduced by the swirl of dance. With this nationalistic design Jerndahl fuses Jugend design with folk culture. An example is in the collection of the Nationalmuseum, Stockholm.
