Lot Essay

The scientist, inventor and poet Piet Hein created this design whilst in Argentina during 1953. As the star constellation 'Ursa Major', commonly known as 'The Plough', cannot be seen in the southern hemisphere, Hein created this candelabra to remind him of the Danish night sky.
