Lot Essay

The 'Tulpanglas' received a Gold Medal at the XI Milan Triennale in 1957. This sophisticated form acknowledged the elegance of post-war Scandinavian organic design, and anticipated the bold and playful nature of Swedish glassware that was to follow in the 1960s.
The engraved mark 'expo' would confirm that these examples were made for an exhibition.
