A RARE FAMILLE-ROSE AND YELLOW-GROUND BLUE AND WHITE VASE
UNDERGLAZE BLUE QIANLONG SIX-CHARACTER SEALMARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-95)
Based on an archaic bronze shape, the body divided into quadrants on each side by raised strapwork decorated in underglaze blue with archaistic dragons and with diamond bosses at the interstices, each of the panels decorated in famille rose with one of the bajixiang reserved on a yellow ground, with further archaistic designs and a pair of foliated bird handles on the neck below a band of upright leaf tips, the whole raised on a spreading foot encircled by a ruyi band, the interior of the neck glazed turquoise
