In the Neo-Rococo taste, the pierced cover surmounted by a bouquet of applied roses above a powdered gilt rim issuing reeds, the inverted pear-shaped body painted front and back with Impressionistic flower and fruit bouquets flanked by gilt enriched bundled reed handles, the conforming socle entwined with pink ribbon above tasselled sunbursts, on a powdered gilt circular foot applied with scale-pattern cartouches alternating with rocaille shells

Lot Essay

Along with Artistic Director Alexander Kips (1858-1910), Professor Paul Miethe (1864-1914) was known for the development of the neu-Rokoko movement at Berlin.
