Lot Essay

This design is depicted in WMF's 1906 British catalogue, where it is described under number 41 as: "Fruit Stand, 25 inches high, silver plated I/O quality, richly cut crystal "Z" glass, "Old Silver" finish, 346/- each. If oxydized & gilt, 400/- each. If finished bright, 5/- extra" (see Art Nouveau, Domestic metalwork from Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik, The English Catalogue 1906, Antique Collector's Club, 1988, p. 58).
