The ruyi-head carved with a central shou character, within a band of bamboo veneer carved with five bats (wu-fu) and an incised pearl- and keyfret border, the arched handle inlaid with bamboo veneer with a bat suspending a shou pendant and 'endless knot', between the Taoist Emblems flanked to the sides with hook-shaped flanges, the reverse inscribed with a poem by Xu Yuan Wen, small repair
