Cast with a Xuande six character mark, late Ming dynasty
Of archaistic bronze shape, the large vase formed by three sections and set with gilt-bronze ribbed flanges, the wide trumpet neck, protruding section and flaring base decorated with red, yellow, green, blue and white archaistic phoenix, dragons and taotie masks against a turquoise-ground, the decoration extending to the interior of the mouth with floral scrollwork, minor wear and infills
