A cizhou alms bowl and a sancai-glazed censer
Song and Tang dynasty
The elegantly shaped sides supported on a high unglazed foot, painted in black with three upright sprigs on a creamy-white ground, 17 cm. high, 13.4 cm. diam.; and a sancai-glazed tripod censer, moulded to the exterior with three lions, covered in a predominantly blue, ochre and cream glaze, 15 cm. high, 10.8 cm. diam., damages and restoration (2)

The Cizhou bowl purchased at Meyl, Munich, May 1928; the censer purchased at Burchard, Berlin, June 1927.
