A Chinese gilt and red lacquered wood figure of Guanyin
circa 18th century
Seated in vajrasana on a separate carved lotus pericarp placed on a high throne, his twenty-four arms radiating around his body, the principle ones in anjalimudra, the others holding partly the specific attributes, wearing dhoti, shawl, his face with serene expression, elongated earlobes, separate carved crown and small figure of Amitabha rising from his hairdress
