With 14 in. wide brass frame to silvered and engraved Roman and Arabic dial, inner concentric calendar ring, sweep seconds, black-painted steel hands, signed 'Henry Higginbotham MACCLESFIELD', with C-scroll and rockwork ormolu spandrels, the arch with painted rolling moon, the two-train movement with four knopped pillars, anchor escapement, hour strike on bell, later seatboard, the case with a scrolled broken pediment centred by a cabochon above pierced blind foliate fretwork, with glazed arched door flanked by fluted columns, above a blind-fret frieze and shaped arched door flanked by fluted columnar angles, the base with rusticated angles, on shaped foliate-carved bracket feet, with remains of BADA label, inscribed in chalk '47', the case and movement probably associated
