Each with a verde antico, green and white marble top with pearled brass border, above a flowerhead-filled entrelac frieze, centred by an urn, on stop-fluted turned tapering legs headed by a rectangular panel, on square tapering feet headed by a rectangular reeded panel, each inscribed in pencil and blue chalk '8839'

The elliptic or demi-medallion tables, designed in the George III 'Roman' fashion of the 1770s, have their friezes bordered by an Etruscan pearl-string. They are wreathed by 'Apollo' sunflowered ribbon-guilloches in antique-stippled tablets, which frame a central tablet sunk with palm-wrapped and 'love' enflamed 'casollette' urn, whose Grecian ribbon-fretted handles are festooned with 'Apollo' laurels evoking lyric poetry. The columnar legs are headed by acanthus-flowered tablets and are designed in the Louis XVI fashion with 'altar' hollowed and pearl-wreathed capitals, reeds sunk in their fluted pillars, plinths enriched with Egyptian fluted tablets, and raised on herm-tapered 'stump' feet.
